MARIMO’s Field Trip part2.5 Special 「Method of making Matcha and Sencha Greentea」
I have learned about the method of making matcha greentea and the temperature for each type of tea when I visited to Hottaen.
Do you really know how to make matcha or using a tea pot to make tea?
I will introduce the method of making matcha and also how to use a tea pot to make greentea to all of you.
First, the method of making matcha
①Use bamboo tea scoop to measure 2 scoops of matcha greentea powder and place it into the tea bowl
②Put a little hot water into the tea bowl and mix with matcha powder
③Then fill 80 ℃ hot water into the tea bowl
④Hold the rim of tea bowl with one hand and use tea whisk and whisk the mathca in a W shape. ※Use the power of your whist, not arm
⑤Lastly, after the matcha has many tiny bubbles on the surface then you can rotate the tea whisk in 360 degree.
FINISH!
Creamy Matcha with fresh green color. It is delicious.
Second, the method of making Sencha greentea for 3 person
①Put Sencha tea leaves into Japanese tea pot
②Pour the hot water first into the tea bowl and wait until the temperature to decline to about 70-80℃ and then pour into the tea pot.
③Let the tea infuse and wait for about 1 minute
④Pour the tea into the tea cups, first pour a little into each cup alternately so the richer tea at the bottom of the pot will be distributed evenly between all cups. You can follow the picture below and try to pour the tea.
FINISH!
40℃ is the most suitabale temperature for Gyokuro Greentea and 70-80℃ is suit able for Sencha Greentea. If you want to enjoy a fresh taste, you could use the water with mild temperature to make the tea ♪
Although there are many kinds of bottle of greentea, I still think that the tea make from traditional Japanese tea pot is totally different. Let’s try to use tea pot and making tea at home!
